Saenger Pottery Founded by William Saenger in the late 1800's (Sometime after his arrival to Texas in 1878). William established the pottery at St. Hedwig, Texas just east of San Antonio

In 1888 the Meyers returned the favor by helping Richter launch his own business in Elmendorf. Richter called his pottery company "Star Pottery" and in the early years made unmarked salt glazed wares like this jug. Later, he, like most potters, turned to bristol slip glazed wares.
