Raku - Flash
Each Raku - Flash piece is a unique one of a kind work of art due to the way in which the various oxides react with an open flame in the firing process. This process is what produces the diverse patterns and the wonderful array of colors seen in these examples. Another result of this process is what appears to the eye as a velvet like surface texture of each piece.
The combination of colors, patterns and texture makes these items visually stunning as well as aesthetically pleasing. Like looking at the clouds in the sky one can spend hours looking at these pieces and yet never fully comprehend all the nuance's of shapes, scenes and figures hid within their three dimensional patterns.
By turning the piece slightly or with changes in lighting the entire look and feel of the piece. Their chameleon like nature makes them almost seem alive; growing and changing as their location or environment changes. Because of this attribute, they fit in and enhance almost any decor.
